Exploring the in-between space
This is an open call for a cross-disciplinary research lab organised by WHYNOT and BAU, led by Amos Ben-Tal and Gosse de Kort. Gain new insights and test your ideas in an open exchange with other professionals. The lab is intended for practitioners from all relevant disciplines.
Amos Ben-Tal is a choreographer and musician, Gosse De Kort is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in architecture. By invitation of WhyNot, the two followed a research trajectory, exploring the space in-between their two fields. They sought to learn from each other and discover how architectural insights can enrich choreography and how choreography can enrich the practice of architecture and space design.
Based on the framework of their research, Amos and Gosse will host a lab where practitioners from different disciplines are given the unique chance to meet each other and explore each other’s visions. Together we will formulate questions and conduct experiments in an open environment.
The BAU LAB ends on Saturday 25th of January with a presentation of your own research, as part of the Festival WhyNot program, which is a festival for dance, performance and art. The BAU LAB is designed for alumni from architecture, set design, choregraphy, dance, researchers, dramaturges, visual artists and other arts, movement and space related alumni. From the applications a selection is made of 20 people; 10 movement and 10 space specialists, who can collaborate and gain insights in each others practice.
