Liat Waysbort: The Sensory Body Masterclass
Liat Waysbort is giving a master class for semi-professional dancers, focusing on developing physical and technical skills and increasing the sensorial awareness of one’s body, using references to traditional dance practices and techniques mixed with yoga. With that synergy Liat trains dancers to arrive at their full potential and enlarge the positive experiences in the practice of dance. The master class relates to her own vocabulary, which results in a very physical and increasingly demanding work of high energy. The principles of this Master class are: bodily connectivity, technical body, –action –motion, active/passive relations, surrendering/giving in to the movement.
Liat Waysbort started her professional career with the Bat-Sheva Dance Company. Waysbort worked with O. Naharin, W. Forsythe, P. S. Norton, Club Guy & Roni and others and won several prizes for her choreographic work. She is teaching at the HJS Amsterdam and the Modern Theater Dance Department of the AHK and giving workshop for professionals around the world. Since 2015 Liat is choreographer/artistic director of Bitter Sweet Dance and associated artist at Dansmakers Amsterdam.
